DESCRIPTION:In light of the recent horrific events in Christchurch\, New Zealand\, Across The Board Game Café with the support of Shawarma Khan and our other partners invite members from Winnipeg’s Muslim Community and Winnipeg’s wider community to come together to Play for Peace on Monday\, April 1st from 5:00 to 10:00 pm. \nThe spirit of the evening will be to interact\, socialize\, have fun and learn from each other while sharing some laughs and building friendships.  We will also be raising money for the Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council\, which works to help recent immigrants integrate into life in Manitoba. \nAcross the Board and Shawarma Khan will be providing meals to everyone who attends and makes a suggested minimum donation of $10 to the Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council – Welcome Place (tax receipts will be issued for the amount of $10+)\, and there will be a selection of board games generously provided by our corporate partners that will be gifted to some participants.  We are also working to have a live video link-up during the event with ‘Counterculture\, ’ a Board Game Café located New Zealand\, to help show our support to their community. \n \n  \n  \n  \nIn the event that there is insufficient seating for all participants\, the Winnipeg Folk Festival has kindly offered their space across the lobby from Across the Board as an overflow seating area. \nAcross the Board would like acknowledge the participation of the following organizations who have donated time\, services\, product and/or their social support of this event: Amigo Games\, Asmodee Canada\, Gordon Food Services\, the Islamic Social Services Association\, the Manitoba Islamic Association\, Shawarma Khan\, Shine Branding\, Ravensburger\, R&R Games Incorporated\, and the Winnipeg Folk Festival. \nAcross the Board Game Café is located at 211 Bannatyne Avenue\, in the McKim Building\, at the corner of Main and Bannatyne. \nIf you are unable to attend the event but would like to make a donation anyway\, please follow this link from the MIIA. DESCRIPTION:This evening is all about painting miniatures. \nDoesn’t matter if you are completely new and would love to learn or if you are experienced. Join us for an evening of painting together with new or old friends. \nThere will be painting as well as some introduction to Miniature gaming if you are interested. \nWe will provide you with the brushes and paints and you can either bring your own favourite miniatures (from a board-game\, D&D\, Warhammer\, etc.) or you can purchase some in our store. \nWe are excited to see you there. All ages are welcome. \nOur regular $6 gaming fee does apply for this event. \n\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\nThis event will be a little different than previous paint nights. We’re going to try having it a little less structured\, and more of a drop-in sort of style\, potentially moving to having them more often. We will have a selection of paints and brushes supplied like previously\, as well as staff that can help teach and advise on painting\, but there will not be miniatures included in the admission. We figured this way it would be more accommodating to people looking to paint different figures! Let us know if you have any questions.

DESCRIPTION:The Kidney Foundation of Canada\, Manitoba Branch and Across The Board Game Café are teaming up again to offer a night of fun and excitement with a portion of the proceeds supporting kidney health right here in Manitoba. \nTHURSDAY\, MAY 24th – Registration 6:30PM\, Race begins at 7PM \nCost per person is $35 (+tax)\,\nwhich includes:\n• the puzzle challenge itself\,\n• a FREE Ravensburger Puzzle to take home for each participant.\n• access to our gaming library for after the event \nFind out if you and your team will be our next puzzle champion! \nDuring the event\, we create teams of 3-4 people\, each team will receive the same 500 piece puzzle. Mark-set-go! Whatever table finishes their puzzle first will be our puzzle champion team. It’s that simple! \n\nYou do not need to register as a team.
