Each player role plays\, acting out their own created character\, each with their own quirks and strengths that can influence the rolls on the dice. That is why D&D is often called a role playing game. Easy rules to learn\, memories hard to forget\, come try it out at Across the Board! \nOur sessions are extremely beginner friendly as the dungeon masters would be happy to guide you through the game. We would be happy to print you a character and lend you dice if need be. Feel free to bring your own character\, though different dungeon masters may need characters of a specific level. \nOur regular $12 gaming fee does apply for this event.\n \nWe have also created a Discord Group for this event to share updates and conversation. DESCRIPTION:Across the Board is now hosting a special afternoon of Dungeons and Dragons session specifically for Kids 10-15 years old! Our experienced Dungeon Masters will run a one-time campaign tailor made for younger audiences\, as well as being beginner friendly. \nNo need to bring any supplies\, though we won’t stop you from bringing anything you would like to have! Feel free to join by yourself\, or bring a buddy or two! We do ask that you register online in advance so we have an idea of how many people will be attending. The $20 fee includes your adventure with our experienced Dungeon Master\, a small group size\, and one on one support. \nCANCELLATION POLICY: If you register and are no longer able to attend – please e-mail hilary@acrosstheboardcafe.com as space is limited. Tickets will not be refunded within 24 hours of the event. \n**Please note that our regular Thursday night sessions are also open to beginners and drop ins but it is intended for adult audiences. SUMMARY:Blood on the Clocktower
DESCRIPTION:In the quiet village of Ravenswood Bluff\, ‌a demon walks amongst you… \nDuring a hellish thunderstorm\, on the stroke of midnight\, there echoes a bone-chilling scream. The townsfolk rush to investigate and find the town storyteller murdered\, their body impaled on the hands of the clocktower\, blood dripping onto the cobblestones below. A Demon is on the loose\, murdering by night and disguised in human form by day. Some have scraps of information. Others have abilities that fight the evil or protect the innocent. But the Demon and its evil minions are spreading lies to confuse and breed suspicion. Will the good townsfolk put the puzzle together in time to execute the true demon and save themselves? Or will evil overrun this once peaceful village? \nBlood on the Clocktower is a bluffing game enjoyed by 5 to 20 players on opposing teams of Good and Evil\, overseen by a Storyteller player who conducts the action and makes crucial decisions. The goal of the game is to successfully deduce and execute the demons before they outnumber the townfolk. \nDuring a ‘day’ phase players socialize openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies\, culminating in a player’s execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil. Of a ‘night’ time\, players close their eyes and are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information\, spread mischief\, or kill. \nThe Storyteller uses the game’s intricate playing pieces to guide each game\, leaving others free to play without a table or board. Players stay in the thick of the action to the very end even if their characters are killed\, haunting Ravenswood Bluff as ghosts trying to win from beyond the grave. We will supply the paints and paint brushes\, you supply the miniatures. We have a selection of miniatures for both Dungeons & Dragons\, and Warhammer available in our store if you don’t have any at home. \n*Please be aware that Warhammer minis do not come built or primed\, so you may want to do that ahead of time! If you wish to simply build the figures\, we do have the appropriate glue for it.\n*We do not have an appropriate space for spray primer\, that must be done ahead of time*

DESCRIPTION:Across the Board is proud to host regular Dungeons and Dragons sessions on Thursdays! This event is perfect for anyone who wants to try the game or just find a place to play the game regularly. \nWhat is Dungeons and Dragons? D&D is a game of unlimited possibilities! A dungeon master at the table prepares and narrates an immersive fantasy story for you and the other players to interact in\, solving puzzles\, persuading nobles\, fighting baddies\, and much more! Every time a player tries something risky\, they must roll a die to see if they succeed or not\, adding some chance to the mix. Each player role plays\, acting out their own created character\, each with their own quirks and strengths that can influence the rolls on the dice. That is why D&D is often called a role playing game. Easy rules to learn\, memories hard to forget\, come try it out at Across the Board! \nOur sessions are extremely beginner friendly as the dungeon masters would be happy to guide you through the game. We would be happy to print you a character and lend you dice if need be. Feel free to bring your own character\, though different dungeon masters may need characters of a specific level. \nOur regular $12 gaming fee does apply for this event.\n \nWe have also created a Discord Group for this event to share updates and conversation.
