Our experienced Dungeon Masters will run a one-night campaign tailor made for newbies. \nWhat is Dungeons and Dragons? D&D is a game of unlimited possibilities! A dungeon master at the table prepares and narrates an immersive fantasy story for you and the other players to interact in\, solving puzzles\, persuading nobles\, fighting baddies\, and much more! Every time a player tries something risky\, they must roll a die to see if they succeed or not\, adding some chance to the mix. Each player role plays\, acting out their own created character\, each with their own quirks and strengths that can influence the rolls on the dice. That is why D&D is often called a role playing game. Easy rules to learn\, memories hard to forget\, come try it out at Across the Board! \nNo need to bring any supplies. We will start by teaching you how to create a character and the basics of the game\, and lend you dice if need be. Feel free to join by yourself\, or bring a buddy or two! We do ask that you register online in advance so we have an idea of how many people will be attending. The $20 fee includes your adventure with our experienced Dungeon Master\, character creation lesson\, a small group size\, and one on one support. \nCANCELLATION POLICY: If you register and are no longer able to attend – please e-mail hilary@acrosstheboardcafe.com as space is limited. SUMMARY:Blood on the Clocktower
DESCRIPTION:In the quiet village of Ravenswood Bluff\, ‌a demon walks amongst you… \nDuring a hellish thunderstorm\, on the stroke of midnight\, there echoes a bone-chilling scream. The townsfolk rush to investigate and find the town storyteller murdered\, their body impaled on the hands of the clocktower\, blood dripping onto the cobblestones below. A Demon is on the loose\, murdering by night and disguised in human form by day. Some have scraps of information. Others have abilities that fight the evil or protect the innocent. But the Demon and its evil minions are spreading lies to confuse and breed suspicion. Will the good townsfolk put the puzzle together in time to execute the true demon and save themselves? Or will evil overrun this once peaceful village? \nBlood on the Clocktower is a bluffing game enjoyed by 5 to 20 players on opposing teams of Good and Evil\, overseen by a Storyteller player who conducts the action and makes crucial decisions. The goal of the game is to successfully deduce and execute the demons before they outnumber the townfolk. \nDuring a ‘day’ phase players socialize openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies\, culminating in a player’s execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil. Of a ‘night’ time\, players close their eyes and are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information\, spread mischief\, or kill. \nThe Storyteller uses the game’s intricate playing pieces to guide each game\, leaving others free to play without a table or board. Players stay in the thick of the action to the very end even if their characters are killed\, haunting Ravenswood Bluff as ghosts trying to win from beyond the grave. Every time a player tries something risky\, they must roll a die to see if they succeed or not\, adding some chance to the mix. Each player role plays\, acting out their own created character\, each with their own quirks and strengths that can influence the rolls on the dice. That is why D&D is often called a role playing game. Easy rules to learn\, memories hard to forget\, come try it out at Across the Board! \nNo need to bring any supplies. DESCRIPTION:In the quiet village of Ravenswood Bluff\, ‌a demon walks amongst you… \nDuring a hellish thunderstorm\, on the stroke of midnight\, there echoes a bone-chilling scream. The townsfolk rush to investigate and find the town storyteller murdered\, their body impaled on the hands of the clocktower\, blood dripping onto the cobblestones below. A Demon is on the loose\, murdering by night and disguised in human form by day. Some have scraps of information. Others have abilities that fight the evil or protect the innocent. But the Demon and its evil minions are spreading lies to confuse and breed suspicion. Will the good townsfolk put the puzzle together in time to execute the true demon and save themselves? Or will evil overrun this once peaceful village? \nBlood on the Clocktower is a bluffing game enjoyed by 5 to 20 players on opposing teams of Good and Evil\, overseen by a Storyteller player who conducts the action and makes crucial decisions. The goal of the game is to successfully deduce and execute the demons before they outnumber the townfolk. \nDuring a ‘day’ phase players socialize openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies\, culminating in a player’s execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil. Of a ‘night’ time\, players close their eyes and are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information\, spread mischief\, or kill. \nThe Storyteller uses the game’s intricate playing pieces to guide each game\, leaving others free to play without a table or board. Players stay in the thick of the action to the very end even if their characters are killed\, haunting Ravenswood Bluff as ghosts trying to win from beyond the grave. DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate the release of Lorcana’s sixth chapter: Azurite Seas! Whether you have been playing since release or are just getting into the game\, you can join in our draft event and get acquainted with the game. \nFrom 4pm to 6pm we will be running league games for our regulars and new players alike\, then at 6pm we will start the draft. If you prefer to just continue to play league games rather than draft that is definitely welcome. \nAt 6pm we will be running a draft tournament. Participants will open 4 packs in total\, selecting cards from packs one at a time that they want in their deck\, passing the remaining cards on to the next player. We willl Play will be casual\, but there will be a prize for the person who wins the most rounds. \nThe league portion will be $12 as usual\, and the cost to join the draft will be $35. DESCRIPTION:In the quiet village of Ravenswood Bluff\, ‌a demon walks amongst you… \nDuring a hellish thunderstorm\, on the stroke of midnight\, there echoes a bone-chilling scream. The townsfolk rush to investigate and find the town storyteller murdered\, their body impaled on the hands of the clocktower\, blood dripping onto the cobblestones below. A Demon is on the loose\, murdering by night and disguised in human form by day. Some have scraps of information. Others have abilities that fight the evil or protect the innocent. But the Demon and its evil minions are spreading lies to confuse and breed suspicion. Will the good townsfolk put the puzzle together in time to execute the true demon and save themselves? Or will evil overrun this once peaceful village? \nBlood on the Clocktower is a bluffing game enjoyed by 5 to 20 players on opposing teams of Good and Evil\, overseen by a Storyteller player who conducts the action and makes crucial decisions. The goal of the game is to successfully deduce and execute the demons before they outnumber the townfolk. \nDuring a ‘day’ phase players socialize openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies\, culminating in a player’s execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil. Of a ‘night’ time\, players close their eyes and are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information\, spread mischief\, or kill. \nThe Storyteller uses the game’s intricate playing pieces to guide each game\, leaving others free to play without a table or board. Players stay in the thick of the action to the very end even if their characters are killed\, haunting Ravenswood Bluff as ghosts trying to win from beyond the grave. Every time a player tries something risky\, they must roll a die to see if they succeed or not\, adding some chance to the mix. Each player role plays\, acting out their own created character\, each with their own quirks and strengths that can influence the rolls on the dice. We will start by teaching you how to create a character and the basics of the game\, and lend you dice if need be. Feel free to join by yourself\, or bring a buddy or two! We do ask that you register online in advance so we have an idea of how many people will be attending.
