DESCRIPTION:Across the Board is proud to host regular Dungeons and Dragons sessions on Thursdays! This event is perfect for anyone who wants to try the game or just find a place to play the game regularly. \nWhat is Dungeons and Dragons? D&D is a game of unlimited possibilities! A dungeon master at the table prepares and narrates an immersive fantasy story for you and the other players to interact in\, solving puzzles\, persuading nobles\, fighting baddies\, and much more! Every time a player tries something risky\, they must roll a die to see if they succeed or not\, adding some chance to the mix. Each player role plays\, acting out their own created character\, each with their own quirks and strengths that can influence the rolls on the dice. That is why D&D is often called a role playing game. Easy rules to learn\, memories hard to forget\, come try it out at Across the Board! \nOur sessions are extremely beginner friendly as the dungeon masters would be happy to guide you through the game. We would be happy to print you a character and lend you dice if need be. Feel free to bring your own character\, though different dungeon masters may need characters of a specific level. \nOur regular $12 gaming fee does apply for this event.\n \nWe have also created a Discord Group for this event to share updates and conversation. DESCRIPTION:Have you started playing Disney’s trading card game; Lorcana? Bring your favourite Disney characters to life with your magical inks and the power of Lorcana! We are officially starting our fifth season on May 26th\, it will run every Sunday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm until November 10th. \nIf you’ve never played before\, don’t worry! We will have someone available to help teach you\, or you can check out the rules online before you attend: https://www.disneylorcana.com/en-US/how-to-play/ \nYou do not need to pre-register\, walk-ins are more than welcome! The entry fee is $12 (plus tax)\, and includes a booster pack from Shimmering Skies. \nLeague Information:\nOver the 12 week long League season\, you can earn points once a week during our Lorcana League Open Play events.\nEvery 4 weeks (which is a round) the top 3 people with the most points will earn a prize!\nAt the end of the season the 5 players with the most points will win prizes! Being number 1 gets you an extra prize. We love to share our passion for board games\, so come on down to a Catan game night and see why it’s been so popular for the past 30 years\, lead with a breakdown of the history of the game\, the ins and outs of strategies\, and an opportunity to put your new learned skills to the test with some friendly matches. \n\nWe will:\n• Learn about the history of the game\n• Why it became so popular\, and how it changed the board gaming world\n• A basic introduction to the rules of the game\n• The differences of the various editions and expansions. SUMMARY:Blood on the Clocktower
DESCRIPTION:In the quiet village of Ravenswood Bluff\, ‌a demon walks amongst you… \nDuring a hellish thunderstorm\, on the stroke of midnight\, there echoes a bone-chilling scream. The townsfolk rush to investigate and find the town storyteller murdered\, their body impaled on the hands of the clocktower\, blood dripping onto the cobblestones below. A Demon is on the loose\, murdering by night and disguised in human form by day. Some have scraps of information. Others have abilities that fight the evil or protect the innocent. But the Demon and its evil minions are spreading lies to confuse and breed suspicion. Will the good townsfolk put the puzzle together in time to execute the true demon and save themselves? Or will evil overrun this once peaceful village? \nBlood on the Clocktower is a bluffing game enjoyed by 5 to 20 players on opposing teams of Good and Evil\, overseen by a Storyteller player who conducts the action and makes crucial decisions. The goal of the game is to successfully deduce and execute the demons before they outnumber the townfolk. \nDuring a ‘day’ phase players socialize openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies\, culminating in a player’s execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil. Of a ‘night’ time\, players close their eyes and are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information\, spread mischief\, or kill. \nThe Storyteller uses the game’s intricate playing pieces to guide each game\, leaving others free to play without a table or board. Players stay in the thick of the action to the very end even if their characters are killed\, haunting Ravenswood Bluff as ghosts trying to win from beyond the grave. Each character comes with their own special ability and no two players in a game are ever the same character.
